Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Everything you want to know before your first visit.
Getting Started
-
No. Club Movement is designed for real women at every stage — beginners, those returning after time away, experienced movers, and everyone in between. Reform 101, our foundations class, teaches you the reformer from scratch in a small, focused group where you get actual instruction, not just follow-along. Mat classes are also a great way to build your movement foundation before stepping onto the reformer. If you'd benefit from more individual attention than a group class can offer, a Private Session is always an option.
-
The reformer is a spring-resistance machine that challenges your body in ways mat work alone cannot — deeper core activation, greater range of motion, and the ability to strengthen muscles through their full length simultaneously. It's why reformer Pilates is consistently recommended for post-injury recovery, joint health, bone density, and functional strength for women across every decade. Mat Pilates is a complete, evidence-based practice on its own and an excellent starting point. The reformer takes your results further.
-
Many of our members train alongside injuries, chronic conditions, and post-surgical recovery — including back pain, hip replacements, osteoporosis, and pelvic floor dysfunction. Reformer Pilates and our strength classes are particularly well-suited for this. We recommend starting with a Private Session so your instructor can understand your history and modify appropriately. Always consult your healthcare provider before beginning a new movement practice, and tell us what you're working with when you book.
-
Neither — and both. Club Movement is a movement and recovery studio. Some members come to move. Some come to restore. Some come to recover. Some come for all three. We don't fit into one category, and that's the point.
-
Club Movement is a wellness and movement space — not a medical facility. We partner with Lifestyle Health + Wellness for medical and integrative health services. If you need clinical support, we can point you in the right direction.
Classes + Scheduling
-
New to the reformer — start with Reform 101. Previous reformer experience — start with Reform. Want to try the studio before committing to the reformer — any mat class or strength class is a great first visit. Still not sure? Email us at office@clubmovement.com and we'll point you in the right direction.
-
Reformer classes are capped at 6. This is intentional. Small classes mean real attention, real corrections, and a real experience. Club Movement will never be a room you can get lost in.
-
Reformer Pilates, mat Pilates, yoga, strength training, and treadmill-based cardio classes — all built around evidence-based movement principles that prioritize strength, mobility, and longevity. Members also have access to the gym for independent training. Full class descriptions are on our Services page.
-
Both. Members can attend classes, use the gym independently, or combine both — whatever fits your body and your day.
-
Yes. Classes fill quickly, especially reformer. Book through the Club Movement app — powered by Wellness Living — or through the schedule on our website. We recommend booking at least 48 hours ahead.
-
Grip socks are required for all reformer classes. If you don't have them, we sell them at the studio. Wear form-fitting clothing so your instructor can see your alignment. Bring water. Everything else is covered.
-
We ask for at least 12 hours notice to cancel a class. Late cancellations and no-shows on class packs forfeit that session. Members on monthly memberships who late cancel will be charged the single class drop-in rate — $20 for mat and strength classes, $32 for reformer. We keep this policy because our classes are small and a last-minute open spot is a spot someone else couldn't take. We appreciate you honoring it.
MEMBERSHIP + PRICING
